The first thing any bride should do before deciding upon her wedding flowers is to browse through our gallery, bridal magazines and/or floral books. It is rare that you will find your perfect bouquet in a book , but you can narrow it down by finding one with the right color scheme, one with the right shape and proportion, and one with the type of flowers you like. Place them in a scrap book and this will help tremendously when it comes time to order your flowers.

As far as bridal bouquets are concerned, brides today are fond of the clutch style. This is where the flowers are clustered together to look as if you gathered them from a garden, with stems showing and all. This look can be dressed up for elegant weddings or can be done casually for the outdoor garden wedding. The benefit of the clutch bouquet is that it can be stored in a vase of water up until show time and will stay fresher longer. They are easier to make and easier to handle during all those wedding photos.
Today’s popular color schemes are very monochromatic. Whether it is a bouquet done up of shades of purple and blues to a bouquet of red roses, red berries, and red foliage. Monochromatic bouquets are a great way to go for a very striking look. Another option, which is a fairly new trend, is an all green bouquet. There are far more green flowers than people know of, not just foliage but flowers such as bells of Ireland, green roses, tulips, berries, etc....… Other color combinations may include a more dramatic effect by combining white roses with dark blue privet berries, or flame calla lilies with purple anemones. Each way you choose keeping the flowers simple buy using only 1 to 3 vanities of flowers will keep you trendy and up to date. Simple, yet elegant. When you start adding 7 to 10 different varieties of flowers to a bouquet, it only take away from the flowers that are important to you and the look gets lost and cluttered.
The meanings of flowers is another factor to consider when deciding upon a bouquet. For example, a Gemini bride may want to use that sign's flower which is the ranunculus and combing it with her grooms sign. Or a bride may want to use the English meanings such as an orange rose represents passion and a yellow one friendship. There are multiple options. Brides are also personalizing their bouquet by adding special objects to it. A beach wedding bride may add seashells that her and her fiancé gathered on their first date, or some brides may fasten heirloom jewelry to the wrapping of their bouquets. Whether it is beads, jewelry, or natural objects, this is a great way of personalizing your bouquet.

Once the bridal bouquet have been chosen the rest of the flowers will fall into place. Other flower trends this year include the addition of fresh flowers on purses, hair clips, and even shoes. Mothers are now carrying mini clutch bouquets instead of the uncomfortable and annoying wrist and pin on corsages Flower girls are decked out with head wreaths and round floral globes called pomanders instead of baskets of petals.
For decade’s, grooms, ushers, and all the men in the wedding party would only wear boutonnieres consisting of roses. Anything else was unheard of. But today’s men can choose from a variety of flowers. Gerbera daisies, berries, herbs, delphinium and my personal favorite the calla lily. Calla lilies are not the large white funeral callas most people think of, today they are smaller and come in a variety of colors. Reds, eggplant, bright oranges, and pastels. The great thing about callas is that they are so hardy. Great for dancing, hugging, and hot summer weddings. These will with stand it all. And such a classy look and easy to make.

Centerpieces |

Trends in centerpieces vary from simple blossoms floating in an elegant bowl to three foot tall towering orchids. Centerpieces can really make the look of the reception .
Using fruit in flower arrangements have been hot this year. Combinations such as green pears with periwinkle hydrangeas or pomegranates mixed with red roses create such a classical and unusual look, it will keep your guests talking all year.
Floating flowers have also been very big this year, they are so easy and simple. For a country wedding, floating a sunflower in a mason jar tied with raffia is one cute idea. Or for a more elegant look, float a blown rose with cranberries. Perfect for a holiday wedding.

The Wedding Cake
About 98% of the Weddings we do, have fresh flowers on the cake. They add so much beauty to a cake and is a great way to tie the reception with the ceremony. Plastic figurines are a thing of the past. Fresh flowers are natural such as the ingredients of a cake and makes it just that much more decadent.
Reception
Rose Petals are very popular because of their ability to decorate a large area with a smaller budget. You can sprinkle petals on the cake table, down the buffet table, around the centerpieces, on the guest book stand, on the present table and anywhere else that would help you tie in all the colors of your wedding in a fresh and fun way.
There is no reason to stress about decorations. Remember simplistic is in and placing 20 single stem lilies with bear grass will bring more attention than an over done arrangement with fifty different flowers crammed into a vase.
